We will never win by being negative! Being negative is a backwards motion, we will never make much forward progress by focusing on the negatives. Life will always usher problems our direction but how we set our heart concerning them is imperative. No one is responsible for how we view life but us. If we take a positive view or one that accommodates negatives, that is solely up to us. God will never control a persons mind and make them think correctly. We are to take control of our thoughts and purposely think positive and aggressively deal with the negatives. Paul in writing to the Corinthians said to cast down vain imaginations. Which means to take a position against them like we would an enemy invading our life. Just like an intruder threatens our well being so does negative, vain thoughts. Forward progress can be consistent when we refuse give place to the control of a negative attitude.

      I agree, it's our responsibility what we think- whether it is negative or positive. I work in an office daily with nine associates that not one out of all of them speak positively. If it's a nice sunny day outside it seems that they'll find something bad to say about it. It is difficult sometimes for me to keep smiling all day and then go home and not be negative myself. It is a discipline that I have to practice to keep that negative thinking and outlook from taking over. I've thought so many times I would just like to leave my job to get away from it, but I may be the only source of light in these peoples lives and I can't and won't entertain those thoughts. I can't change how these people think, but I bet you that I can influence them.
